Mr. Leroy C. Lewellyn, 72, of Lexington passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born September 28, 1942 in Charlotte, N.C. to Maurice and Frances Young Lewellyn. He was a member of Pinedale Christian Church and was retired from the Winston-Salem Police Department after 38 years of service. Leroy enjoyed carpentry work and helped numerous people with different building projects. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dianne Welch Lewellyn, a son, Ross and two brothers. Surviving are a son, Chase Lewellyn; two sisters, Carolyn Harrison (Willard) and Susan Schramm (John); a brother, David Lewellyn (Camilla); several nieces and nephews; his father and mother-in-law, William and Earlene Welch; and by many friends. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday at Parklawn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Bob McCaskill officiating.
