Clarence "Bud" Ruben Young, 87, of Winston-Salem died Monday, Dec. 27, 2004, at his home. Mr. Young was born Oct. 21, 1917, in Walnut Cove, a son of the late Frank David Young and the late Beatrice Tuttle Young. He was a World War II veteran serving in the U.S. Navy and the retired owner and operator of Young's Dry Cleaners for 58 years. He was also a charter member of Mineral Springs Volunteer Fire Department, where he served for 53 years, and a member of Rosebud Christian Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Ruby Haines; and a brother, Elwood Young. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Ruth Nelson Young of the home; daughter Jean Tillotson of Winston-Salem; sons Rick Young and wife Martha of Winston-Salem and Greg Young and wife Betsy of Richmond, Va.; brother Fred Young of Walnut Cove; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. today, Dec. 29, at the mausoleum chapel of Gardens of Memory in Walkertown, with Chaplain Brian King and Elder Milton Gunter officiating.

Ruth Elizabeth Nelson Young, 91, of Winston-Salem passed away March 27, 2013. She was born in Stokes County to Alex Nelson and Verda Bennett Nelson.
Mrs. Young was a member of Walnut Cove Primitive Baptist Church.
She married Clarence R. "Bud" Young on October 19, 1940.
Mrs. Young was a member of Pinebrook Country Club and was an avid golfer for 30 years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bud Young; sister, Lorene Young; and brothers, Curtis Nelson and Billy Nelson.
She is survived by children, Jean Tillotson of Winston-Salem, Rick Young (Martha) of Winston-Salem, and Greg Young (Betsy) of New London; an aunt, Ethel Moorefield of Walnut Cove; 5 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be Friday, March 29, 2:00 pm, in the mausoleum chapel at Walkertown Gardens of Memory with Elder Milton Gunter officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday, March 28, 6:30-8:30 pm, at Vogler and Sons Reynolda Chapel.
