Note on Marriage
Per Mark Young:
Before Uncle John and Aunt Lemmie moved to Winston, they lived on a 65 acre farm across and slightly north of grandpa Tommy's farm on the east side of East Road. This farm joined the Tom East farm to the south on the east side of East Road. In 1923, Uncle John sold this farm to my grandpa Frank David Young who is mentioned frequently in the reunion minutes through 1975 when he died in November.
Note on Husband: John Wesley YOUNG
Per Mark Young:
Uncle John became a tobacco warehouseman and worked at or was a partner at several warehouses on the Winston market mainly at Brown's Warehouse. Based on everything I have heard, he had the same talent for selling tobacco that his father, brothers and cousins had for growing it. I have no doubt that Mr. Jim, Marvin, Onnie and Vester as well as grandpa and uncle Albert sold tobacco with him. The following documnet contains John's military registration card from 1918 and an advertisment from 1938 in the Danbury Reporter featuring John and his employer Gorrell's Warehouse.
